Saline, Mich. with electric interurban in the
middle of Michigan Ave.

The electric
trolley in downtown Saline, around 1905. The buildings are
on the southeast corner of Michigan Avenue, then called
"Chicago Road."
A sign in the
middle of the block says "Waiting room." That
would be the interurban ticket office. It cost very little
to travel between Saline and Ypsilanti on the electric
interurban. This car was known as "Old Maude."
In 1905, investors
were ready to place an interurban through Milan, connecting Ann
Arbor to Toledo.
