Stimpson Hotel, Milan, MI

The Stimpson Hotel was built in 1906 by the Stimpson Scale Company.  They had a scale factory in Milan at the time, according to Warren Hale.  Nick Schenk bought it in about 1970 and made it a German restaurant called the Danube Inn.

This picture was probably taken about 1910.  Shortly afterwards, in 1912, the street was paved.  This picture was sold at the time as a post card.
