I, John F. Howard of the township of Benton in the county of Berrien and State of Michigan, being in the full possession of mind and intellectual faculties, do hereby ordain this last Will and Testament, revoking all others.

I do hereby give and grant to my wife, Sylvesta Howard, all the real estate now owned by me, being the east quarter of section number thirty five (35) township number four… with the appurtenances thereto belonging … to have and to hold for her own use and benefit. And I do further give to my wife all of my personal property except as hereinafter provided.

I hereby give to my daughter Helen C. Howard one cow.

I also give to my son Rhinaldo S. Howard one pair of steer calves.

I do also give and bequest to my daughters Alenora A. Howard and Violetta Howard the sum of five dollars each to be paid to them when they shall respectively obtain the age of twelve years.

I hereby appoint L. W. Pearl my executor of this my Last Will and Testament.

The following comprises an inventory of the personal effects of the estate of John F. Howard, deceased.

2 cows, one of which has been delivered to Helen as directed in the Will of the deceased.

2 steer calves, which have been delivered to Rhinaldo, as directed in the Will of the deceased.

1 heifer calf.

2 pigs and shouts (?)

3 swarms of bees

About 1500 feet of whitewood lumber

Carpenter tools probably to the value of ten dollars

I believe that the foregoing comprises about all of the personal effects of John F. Howard, deceased as far as I can ascertain.
