This photo was taken in Passaic, New Jersey.  At about the time this photo was taken, the elder George was corresponding by letter to his adult daughter, Francoise Tjaden Crans, in St. Joseph, Michigan.  

This photo was found among the belongings of Jeanette Crans McKindley, with a note on the back in her handwriting stating that the elder George was her "Opa Tjaden."
