Marie Forest was born in 1897 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.  She was the 14th child of 15 in her family.  "By the time I came along, they were about ready to drown 'em!" she used to say.

She was very happily married to Wilfred L. Churchill, who was born the same year in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  They met in the Detroit area where they raised two children.  Marie is the genealogist's grandmother.
