Johanna's father was the mayor of Wijhe, Holland.  She married Francois Fredr. Brandt and had a child, Jeanette Brandt.  Johanna was widowed and raising her daughter Jeanette alone, then in 1847 she married her second husband, Roelof Buisman (pictured below), and had four more children.

This is Roelof Buisman, Johanna's second husband.  He lived from 1821 to 1883.  

Roelof's grandson made friends with Jeanette Crans McKindley and stayed in touch with her through the mail.  Today, Roelof's great-grandson in Holland keeps in touch with Jeanette's granddaughter in Milan, Michigan.
