John F. Howard was married to Nora Gaude.  This portrait was taken by M. V. Chapman, of Benton Harbor, Michigan.  

 John's date of birth is not known, but his father Reynaldo S. Howard (or "Rinaldo") was born in 1847.  John had a sister, Chloie Howard Zuver, and a cousin, Helen Howard McKindley.

I do not know how many children John and Nora had, but they apparently had a son, Reynaldo Franklin Howard, who was born in about 1892.  

The museum in Berrien Springs, Michigan shows that the younger Reynaldo left a marriage record for his wedding.  The marriage record lists Reynaldo Franklin Howard getting married on October 25, 1915, at age 23, to a woman by the name of Esther Tracy Smith.
